Dog Obedience |
|
Our obedience articles focus on dog obedience, general dog behaviour, dog behaviour problems, human behaviour around dogs, and many other behavioural traits of both humans and dogs which need looking at when dog obedience problems arise.
All our obedience articles are free to read for all readers so we would strongly recommend you read as much as you can so that you understand just how much your own behaviour affects your dog's personality and obedience.
Please remember, dogs do not know how to be ‘naughty', they simply learn to associate one thing with another, so nine times out of ten, any dog behaviour ‘problem' can be traced back to a behavioural ‘mistake' by its owner or other nearby humans at some time. Often it will be something you are totally unaware of until an objective expert happens to see it and tell you about it.

Remember also that for us dog lovers to ensure our dogs are valued by the rest of society as much as they are by us dog owners ourselves, we must strive to keep our dogs' behaviour and obedience as good as we can so nobody has a reason to complain about our dogs' behaviour.
We all have a responsibility towards our dogs, and to dogs in general, and the way to take this responsibility seriously is to regularly train our own dogs to be obedient and well-mannered, so that they are safe, reliable, predictable and trusted by all.
Dog obedience is also extremely enjoyable, and when you master one obedience technique there is a drive to accomplish more, and your dog will love every minute of the obedience training you do with him/her so long as you are using reward based training techniques and only asking a level of obedience from your dog which it is currently capable of, before progressing to more advanced dog obedience.
Read the articles to find out more about your own behaviour, as well as your dog's!
