The King Charles Spaniel only needs small amounts of food. They thrive on a natural, home prepared diet as they can be fussy eaters.
This dog can suffer with heart problems, eye infections, ear infections and respiratory diseases. Check the bloodlines carefully to avoid an unhealthy dog.
This little dog is compact and lively in appearance. It has a distinct domed head with a deep pug-style nose with open nostrils. This dog has a slight undershot bite. The King Charles Spaniel has beautiful, round dark eyes with a gentle expression. They have pendulous ears that fall to the cheeks. The tail was traditionally docked. This dog has a distinctive ‘thumbprint' of white or red colour on the forehead. The coat colours are King Charles (black and tan), Ruby (solid red), Blenheim (white with red patches) and Prince Charles, (white with black and tan patches.)
