The Boston terrier is intelligent and alert so is easy to train if using positive reward-based dog training methods.

They have a reputation for being very friendly and playful with everyone, including children and the elderly.

In general, they do not make good watchdogs and will welcome anyone to the home. As a result of the Boston Terrier's excellent easy going character they make popular companion animals.
