'Breeze' |
|
Hi everyone!!
I am Tracey and I am currently owned by a longhaired Germand Shepherd called Breeze (and a multitude of other names).
Me and my partner have always had longhaired shepherds, Breeze being number 4 in 23 years. Our 1st Rocky sadly put to sleep at 7 years due to a brain tumour. The 2nd was called Shadow, the 3rd Shade. These two were owned together.
Shadow reached 11 years before finally having to be put down due to annul furrunculosis. Shortly after this Shade was found to have a tumour mass on her spleen. She was also 11 years and all of them are missed every day but not forgotten as Breeze seems to have traits of all three plus her own added and believe me she has a lot.
She is extremely strong-willed, ball crazy, cheeky, funny, a pain in the butt and adored by all. Certainly a character. Loves water, people and the car and likes to meet other dogs.
By the way she is coming up for 16 months. We are trying to correct excessive excitement in the car not just when we go out but when we are near home as well. We have just invested in a crate so she can’t wind herself up visually and movement wise, fingers crossed.
She pulls like a steam train. Have tried all harnesses which seem to give her extra traction, she is now on a halti and boy she doesn’t like it.
Breeze does a strange thing with her mouth all the time the Halti is on like a horse chewing on its bit. We have had all the normal puppy problems i.e. owners being taken in by those puppy dog ways there are no dog problems it’s us humans who make a rod for our own backs but we don’t learn as quick as our dogs do as we still find it hard not to fall for their cuteness even though you know you shouldn’t.
She was weaned and fed a raw diet up until she was 13 months, then seemed to go right off it and started to lose condition so she is now on jwb duck kibble which seems ok at the moment. She is still an entire bitch but will be spayed after next season looking at the possibility of a laparoscopic spay seeing she is such a livewire.
Not much to write about me, I’m a small bighearted softie when it comes to my dog and let her get away with far too much but we are working on that as well with the help of its me or the dog program I think I will have to invest in a pair of Victoria’s kinky boots.
