German Shepherd : "Kerr" |
|
My name is Zoe and in February 2008 our family suffered the loss of our old boy Sam. He was fifteen and the whole family missed him terribly. We waited a whole year to decide if we were ready for another dog and the house felt empty.
Then, by chance, while looking into GSD puppies, a breeder had a male of 17 months returned to him as he was being bullied by his older brother. My daughter and I travelled to Glasgow and that’s where we met Kerr for the first time.
It was love at first sight, he came home with us a week later. Although still settling he is a wonderful boy. He loves to go for long walks through the woods where my partner plays hide and seek with him. Kerr has recently found the beach, he likes to bound over the rocks after everyone and try to climb into holes that are too small! I don’t think he knew what to make of sheep and cows and when a pheasant called he nearly laid an egg!
Kerr even likes to help in the garden by digging up my newly planted bulbs, running away with my flower pots and just plain old sunbathing. Its great to see him alert and interested wherever he goes whether its close to home or out in the car.
Coming from the city the countryside must be like a whole new world and he is up for sniffing every bit of it. But do you know it’s the happiest my family has been for over a year and I don’t know why I left it so long! |
