My Husky x German Shepherd puppy: 'Allis' |
|
My name is Jenny Sutcliffe, I have just joined this web site for help with my new puppy.
Her Name is Allis, pronounced like Alice, named after my partners favourite make of vintage tractor.
I have just turned 24 and my partner, James, is 25. Allis is my first dog although I have lived with dogs all my life and this is James' first dog too, although his parents owned one dog in the past. We are in the process of moving at the moment to a house which has a beautiful garden perfect for Allis to run around in, off lead.
Allis is a Siberian Husky - German Shepherd cross. She is all white. At this moment in time she is seven and a half months old.
We got her when she was 8 weeks old from a farm in Doncaster. Allis' mum was a purebred Husky and her dad was a cross like Allis. The German Shepherd was bred into them to encourage dog training and obedience traits as apparently Huskies could be hard to train.
When Allis was quite ill when we got her, she had a bad case of fleas and also tape worm, this was soon sorted out and she perked up and has been a mischievous little minx ever since!
For the past three weeks she has been losing her puppy teeth and gaining her adult teeth.
Allis loves long walks and even more so going for a run while we are on our push-bikes. Allis has wonderful selective hearing, she gets distracted easily but when we have her attention she sits when asked and the "come here" command is coming on slowly. "No" is interesting as she realises that she is not meant to be doing something so half of the time she grabs what she is chewing and runs off into the garden.
Allis has a taste for shoes and the kitchen bin. But for all her naughtiness we lover her very much and would not change her for the world.
The photos I have Shown are from when we first got her, of course she has grown a bit since both of these were taken. |
