Hello, my name is Sheila. I was the proud owner of 2 dogs – one being an abused and abandoned Rough Collie called Ladie. Her story is already on K9Obedience.
This is about my one dog now. Believe it or not, he is a Maltese (mother) Staffie cross with more problems than I knew a dog could have.
You probably think someone conned me, but I actually was there when he was a day old with his maltese mum that I had conned my boss at the time into taking home to his wife, as she had always wanted a fluff ball.
We didn’t know at the time that she was pregnant. She was in the dog pound at work. Anyway, she had 6 puppies and Buster was the only brindle short haired one. He had a big head, short legs, with big feet, and a long body. My boss couldn’t get anyone to take him, as he had managed to give the other five away. Buster was “too ugly” other peoples words, to take home. Due to his kids getting attached and wanting to keep him when they already had 2 dogs – you are only allowed to have 2 dogs in Western Australia, I took him to rehouse him, as I had Ladie and no other dog.
I have never had more than one dog, due to costs of living.
Buster is a high maintenance dog. When he was 6 months old I had him allergy tested, as he didn’t have flees but was sucking his feet until the blood came out.
Buster has 36 allergies and has been gender reassigned. He now looks like a girl dog, but he is still male in the head, i.e. cocks his leg and trying to go all the way with a dog on heat.
Every month I have to take him to my vet for toenails/dew claws and his anal glands. He is so used to going there he gets excited when I drive toward the vet.
He is lovely in my eyes, and his character is 200%+, It’s really weird how he ended up looking. The third pic is Buster as a puppy. He will be 8 years old in November 2008.
Many regards,
Sheila Smith
